Description:

Benzaflex is a prescription medication used short-term to treat muscle spasms and related pain. It helps relax muscles to ease discomfort and is usually used along with rest and physical therapy.

Warnings & Precautions:

• Intended for short-term use only (2–3 weeks).
• Avoid if you have hyperthyroidism, severe heart conditions, or arrhythmias.
• Do not use simultaneously or within 14 days of discontinuing antidepressants.
• May cause drowsiness or dizziness — avoid driving or operating machinery.
• Use cautiously in elderly patients and those with liver impairment.

How to Use:

• Adults: 5 mg orally every 8 hours; dose adjustments as advised by your doctor.
• Elderly: Start with 5 mg daily and adjust gradually under medical supervision.

Possible Side Effects:

• Stop use and seek immediate medical attention if swelling of face, lips, throat or breathing difficulty occurs.
• Discontinue use if rash or itching develops.

Drug Interactions:

• Antidepressants such as phenelzine, isocarboxazid, tranylcypromine.
• Alzheimer's medications like donepezil and tacrine.
• Other medications and herbal supplements may interact.
