Medical Uses

• Treatment of cold sores (herpes simplex) on the lips.
• Prevention of the spread of infection to surrounding areas of the lips.
• Reduction of pain and swelling associated with cold sores.

Dosage and Administration

• Apply the cream to the affected area 5 times a day (every 4 hours) for 5 days.
• Wash hands before and after applying the cream.
• It is best to start treatment at the first sign of cold sore symptoms.

Side Effects

• Itching or local irritation at the site of application.
• Dry skin.
• Redness or peeling of the skin (rare).
