Diaoptim is a medication containing Gliclazide at a concentration of 60 mg, used to control blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes.
What is Gliclazide and what is it used for:
Gliclazide is a drug belonging to the sulfonylurea group, which works by stimulating the release of insulin from the pancreas.
Therapeutic Indications of Diaoptim:
- Used to treat type 2 diabetes when diet and exercise alone are not sufficient to control blood sugar levels.
Method of Administration of Diaoptim:
Always take Diaoptim as prescribed by your doctor. The usual dose is 30 mg to 120 mg once daily with breakfast.
Possible Side Effects:
- Low blood sugar levels (hypoglycemia).
- Abdominal pain.
- Nausea or vomiting.
- Diarrhea or constipation.
- Allergic reactions such as rash or itching.
Warnings and Precautions:
- Do not use Diaoptim if you are allergic to Gliclazide or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.
