Mechanism of Action
Salbutamol relaxes the smooth muscles of all airways, from the trachea to the terminal bronchioles.
Salbutamol stimulates beta-2 receptors present in the bronchial musculature, causing them to relax and preventing the onset and worsening of asthma symptoms.
Therapeutic Indications
- It is used to treat breathing problems in people with asthma and similar conditions.
Undesirable Side Effects
- Headache.
- Tremors.
- Muscle cramps.
- Fast or irregular heartbeats.
- Low potassium levels.
