The Menopause and FSH Test is used to determine the level of Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) in urine. Menopause is defined as the absence of menstrual periods for 12 consecutive months without any other biological or physiological cause. Menopause occurs due to a change in the hormonal balance in a woman's body, typically starting around the age of 45. However, the true signs of menopause are usually noted around the age of 55. Irregular menstrual cycles are an early indicator of the onset of menopause (perimenopause). Menopause results from the end of the ovarian follicle life cycle, leading to increased levels of Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH). FSH concentration rises during menopause from values below 20 IU/L to around 80 IU/L.
Usage Instructions
Remove the protective cap and place the absorbent tip under the urine stream for at least 10 seconds. Alternatively, collect urine in a clean, dry container and dip the absorbent tip into the urine for 10 seconds. Replace the protective cap on the device and wait 5 minutes before reading the result.
