Citoxal contains escitalopram 10 mg, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) used to treat depression and anxiety disorders. It works by increasing serotonin levels in the brain to improve mood and reduce anxiety symptoms.

Indications:

• Major depressive disorder in adults.
• Panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and obsessive–compulsive disorder.

How to Use:

• Take one tablet once daily, at a fixed time, with or without food.
• Dosage may be increased to 20 mg per day based on clinical response.
• Therapeutic benefits appear after several weeks; continue treatment as directed.

Warnings & Safety:

• Discontinuation should be gradual to avoid withdrawal symptoms such as dizziness, sleep disturbances, and mood changes.
• Use in individuals under 18 years is not generally recommended without strict medical supervision.
• May increase suicidal ideation risk in individuals up to 24 years old; close monitoring is essential.
